Mystery Diner Review - Ice Harbor at the Marina
By Find out more about Ice Harbor at the Marina Published: 02/20/2009
Located on Clover Island in Kennewick, Ice Harbor Brewery at the Marina is a gathering place for food and brew fans. The staff welcomes you as you arrive and are attentive not only to your order and needs, but readily respond to questions about items on the menu and ingredients. The server even took time to ask the chef about the wine in the steamed clam appetizer I ordered, which was very unique, fresh, flavorful, and not fishy at all. The clams were prepared with peppery andouille sausage, garlic and a white wine that was tart and sweet; delicious. I ordered extra toast to sop up the juice and didn’t leave a drop.
For my main course I ordered, Garlic-Pesto Chicken Flatbread, an Ice Harbor specialty, was hearty, flavorful and made even better when I added hot sauce (at the suggestion of our knowledgeable server). The wide variety of offerings, assure me that I could return again and again; sampling other fresh and delicious tastes regularly.
While “mystery dining” I always make it a point to observe other diners and their experience. The packed lunch crowd was alive with laughter and conversation. On a number of occasions I overheard compliments to the servers. By the variety of guests and the assortment of groups enjoying lunch together, it is clear that Ice Harbor Brewing Company at the Marina is far more than a “Brew Pub,” it is a plethora of culinary experiences in a casual yet sophisticated setting. Next time I will have to save room for desert!
